The Delivery Options tab allows you to adjust default settings for the return being processed and review the return before delivery. Please click the tabs below to see detailed information about each section of the Delivery Options tab.
- Taxpayer Preview opens up a new tab that shows the return from the taxpayer's perspective.
- Group Name lists the Group Name that the return is listed under if any. You may add one here.
- Contact Person allows you to decide who appears as the contact person for the taxpayer. You may select any user in the drop-down.

Message From Preparer allows you to add a message that appears to the taxpayer after authentication. This default message is applied from the Saved Message settings.
- Click New to open an editor to create a new message to the recipient.

This section allows you to select a stored Watermark to apply to return.

This section allows you to select the Column Value the return displays in the custom column on the Delivered Returns Report.

This section allows you to choose delivery and notification options.
- Select if the return is delivered to the Taxpayer or Spouse first using the Deliver First to radio buttons.
- This option only appears for 1040 Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) returns.
- Select the name that appears on email notifications to the client in the Sender Name drop-down.
- These notifications include Initial Email, Voucher/Signing Reminders, and Download E-Signed Forms.
- Select which user receives signing event notifications from the Notify About Signing Events drop-down.
- These notifications include: Your tax return is signed by all signers, Opted out of signature, E-file authorization forms received.
- Select which user receives voucher payment activity notifications from the Notify About Payment Events drop-down.
This section allows you to turn on SMS Text Notifications so the client can receive signing reminders via text. This setting must be turned on in Suite Settings to be available.
- Toggle SMS Notifications ON or OFF for the taxpayer or spouse.
This section allows you to change the automated Signing and Voucher reminder settings.
Use the toggles to the right of the drop-downs to turn the corresponding reminders on or off.
- Select the Send Voucher Reminder before drop-down to set how long before a voucher is due that a reminder is sent.
- Select the Send Signing Reminder after drop-down to set how long after a signing reminder is sent that our system sends another.
This section allows you to modify how long returns are stored (if firm settings allow).
- Select a date range from Please select the retention period for the document drop-downs.
- Check to mark the return as an Attest Client. Review our article Managing Retention Policy for more information.
This section shows the options that the taxpayer is presented during the signing step.
- E-Sign: The taxpayer is prompted to answer knowledge-based authentication (KBA) questions (1040 returns only), and can digitally enter their signature.

Manual Sign and Return: The taxpayer is prompted to download, print, and manually sign the return before uploading it back into the system.
- When this option is selected, there is no option to E-Sign.
- Check the box for Disable KBA for Esign of this Document to allow the taxpayer(s) to sign without going through knowledge-based authentication (not recommended - KBA is required by the IRS).
- This option is only available if the corresponding setting is turned on in the E-Sign Options section of the Return Settings.
- Check the box for Allow signer delegation to allow the client to delegate signing on this return.
- This option is only available if Signer Delegation is turned on in the E-Sign Options section of the Return Settings.
- Check Enable Knowledge-Based Authentication for delegated signers to force delegates to perform KBA before signing.
- This option is only available if Signer Delegation is turned on in the E-Sign Options section of the Return Settings.
In this section, you can set the address and fax number your clients see when they go through the manual signing process. These addresses are managed in the Office Location settings.
- Select the address from the drop-down.
- The address and fax (if included) are displayed below.

- Click Finish in the lower right corner to open the Finish Return Processing window.
- Send the return to another internal User.
- Send for Review: Choose among a list of users to review the return. It is assigned to them with the status Review.
- Approve for Delivery: This updates the status of the return from Processing or In Review to Approved for Delivery.
- Send the return to Taxpayer.
- Deliver to Client: This moves the return out of the In-Process section into Delivered Returns and the return is sent to the taxpayer.
- Download PDF: This option is only available if the setting to download the finalized PDF is enabled in your firm's Return Settings. This generates a PDF copy of the return and sends it to the Delivered Returns section. See the Download PDF article for more information.
