The Returns program can identify if an Extension package has previously been delivered for a specific client. Returns will look for Tax Year, SSN or EIN, and Return Type to locate any related Extension packages that have already been delivered.
When Returns finds that an Extension was previously delivered, and the user clicks the Finish button, a pop-up box appears allowing the user to disable voucher reminders for the delivered Extension package.
This feature helps to prevent the delivery of duplicate reminders and the potential for duplicate payments.
Important
- The pop-up box options apply to both payment and estimated payment reminders.
- If the Extension reminders are turned off, the client will not see a Pay section when accessing the Extension, but they will when accessing the Return.
- Reminders will still be enabled for the return if the setting is enabled in the Delivery Options tab.
- Click No to leave the voucher notifications enabled for the Extension.
- Click Yes, turn it off to disable voucher notifications for the Extension.
