GoFileRoom Integration Troubleshooting

If a document fails to upload to GoFileRoom, the user initiating the file transfer will receive an email notifying them. This generally indicates an issue with the mapping in your Product Settings, or a mismatch between the GoFileRoom client record and the SafeSend client record.

Mapping

Any indexes marked as Required Fields in GoFileRoom must be mapped in SafeSend. All other GoFileRoom Indexes in SafeSend can be left blank. 

An asterisk in GoFileRoom indicates required fields. In the example below, Client Name, Client Number, File Section, Document Type, and Document Date are required and must be mapped in SafeSend. 

When additional information needs to be entered, like for Document Type and File Selection, the text in GoFileRoom must match the text entered in SafeSend exactly. This is case sensitive. (ex: E-FILE AUTHORIZATION). 

Click the File Section drop-down in GoFileRoom to see what options your firm has available. 

To view your Document Types, the File Section field must be filled. Then click the Document Type drop-down. 

For the examples provided above, the mapping in SafeSend would look like the image below. All required fields are filled, and all data typed into the File Section and Document Type boxes match GoFileRoom exactly. 

Client Records

Currently, the Client Name and Client ID in SafeSend must match the Client Name and Client Number in GoFileRoom exactly. This is a current system limitation that is being investigated. We hope to remove the Client Name restriction in the future. 

1040 Returns

  • The Taxpayer Name field in SafeSend must match the Client Name in GoFileRoom exactly.
  • The Client ID in SafeSend must match the Client Number in GoFileRoom exactly.
  • SafeSend formats the taxpayer name as First Name Last Name; GoFileRoom must use the same format.
  • Do not include the spouse’s name in the GoFileRoom Client Name field.

You can click the Edit button in the Action menu for the return to see how the name is displayed in SafeSend. 

Entity Returns

  • The Name field in SafeSend must match the Client Name in GoFileRoom exactly.
  • The Client ID in SafeSend must match the Client Number in GoFileRoom exactly.
