Submitting Returns

Uploading

CCH® UltraTax CS® GoSystem® Tax RS Lacerte®
  1. Click the CCH button.
  2. Choose the files to upload.
    • Drag and drop the return(s) into the Drag files here box.
    • Click on the Drag files here (or click to upload) box, which will open a File Explorer window to select return(s).
    • Select up to 20 individual returns to upload at once.
  3. The Upload Progress bar will move to green to indicate the file has successfully been uploaded.
  4. Verify the Client ID is correct.  The system automatically assigns the Client ID based on the file name.
  5. Enter a Group Name for the return to assign it to a new or existing Group Return.
  6. Click Everyone under Set Access to limit visibility on the return to select individuals.
    • By default, this is set to all users.
  7. Click Submit once all files are fully uploaded to begin the SafeSend Returns assembly process.

Initial Processing

  • A notification will be sent once submitted.
  • The user will be returned to the Send Tax Returns screen once complete.
    • If the Status column shows UPLOADED, the assembly process is not yet complete.
    • The Status will change to READY after the SafeSend Returns assembly is completed.
  • Ensure that the Name, Client ID, and Type columns have information in them.

Runs can be processed in 1 of 3 ways:

  1. Double-click on the return in the list.
    • This will automatically assign the return to you.
    • This is the recommended method.
  2. Select Process Return from the action column.
    • This will automatically assign the return to you.
  3. Check the box in the far left column and click Assign in the top menu.
    • This will bring up a list of users to assign the return(s) to.
