[Video] Client Portal Experience

The video below shows you a typical Client Portal experience from the perspective of the taxpayer.

1. Welcome to the Client Portal Experience as seen on a desktop.

2. You will receive an email from noreply@safesendreturns.com.

3. Click Access Client Portal to begin.

4. Enter your email address and click Continue if you already have a Client Portal account.

5. Click Sign Up to create an account.

Step 5 image

6. To register a new account, enter your name and email address, then click Verify your email.

Step 6 image

7. An access code is sent to your email. The code is valid for 20 minutes, until you use it, or until you generate a new code. Retrieve the code from your inbox.

8. Enter the code and click Confirm.

9. Create a PIN that is used to access your Client Portal account in the future. Type the PIN again to confirm it. Click Create Account to finalize your registration and sign in.

10. Click Continue to begin the standard login process.

11. Enter your pin and click Continue. A new access code is sent to your email address.

Step 11 image

12. Enter the code and click Confirm to login. In the future, you are only prompted to enter your PIN when logging in from a new browser or device.

13. This is your landing page for the Client Portal. You can review recent activity, pending tasks, completed tasks, firm contact information, and notifications here.

14. Review your recent activity.

15. Click Send Files to CPA to upload documents for your tax firm.

16. Review the Contact Information for someone at your tax firm.

Step 16 image

17. Click the notification bell to open your recent notifications.

18. You can click a line item to be directed to that task or document.

19. Click Completed Tasks to review recently completed items.

20. Click OK to close this window.

21. Review your Pending Tasks.

22. Click Get Started to open the related task. You are guided through the Client Experience for that item. Click a link below for more information.

23. Click Documents to review and download your tax documents.

24. Use the Search, Filter, and Sort By options to look for specific documents.

25. Click Send Files to upload documents for your tax firm.

26. Expand the drop-down for the appropriate headers and sub headers.

27. Click View to see a preview of the document.

28. Click Download to download a copy of the document.

29. Click the more menu for additional options.

30. Click Download to download the document.

31. Click Messge From CPA to see a note from your tax firm.

32. Click OK to close the message.

33. You can also review the signature status for documents that require a signature.

34. Click Tax Payments to review any payments associated with your return.

35. Payments are separated by Due Date.

36. Click View to see a summary of payments due for that due date.

37. Click Ok to close the summary.

38. Click Pay to be directed to your tax payments dashboard. See our Make Voucher Payments article for more information.

39. Click Distribute K-1s to review and deliver K-1 packages.

40. Review the distribution status for your K-1s here.

41. Click Distribute to be directed to your K-1 distribution dashboard. See our K-1 Distribution article for more information.

42. Click Security Settings to merge email addresses, update your PIN, or update your email address.

43. To add another email ID to your OneHub account, type the email address into the Add Another Email field and click Add.

44. Enter the code sent to that email address and click Verify Code.

45. Click Update to update your secure PIN.

46. Enter your Current PIN, New PIN, Confirm the new PIN, and click Update to save any changes.

47. Click Update to edit the email address associated with your OneHub account.

48. Enter the new email address and click Update. You are prompted to log back in to your OneHub account.
