Tax Returns In-Process Statuses

As returns move through processing, they display different statuses. These statuses are shown in the Status column on the Tax Returns In-Process page. See the entries below for more information.

Note:

These statuses apply to returns that have not been delivered. To see a list of statuses applied to delivered returns, see Delivered and Archive Returns Statuses.

Status Description

The return was approved for delivery to the client. In the Finish pop-up, users can send a return to another firm user for approval before final delivery.

Delivery Failed

An error occurred and the return could not be delivered to the client.

Downloading Failed

An error occurred and the return could not be downloaded.

The return was recalled by a user. Recalled returns can be reprocessed and delivered to the client again. For more information, see Recalling a Return.

The return is prepared to be reprocessed by a user. This status is an intermediate step between RECALLED and PROCESSING. It is only visible to the user if there is a delay when opening a recalled return.

Review

The return was sent to another user for review before final delivery to the client.

Returns sent to another user for review are assigned to that user.

This status is only used when a client has an integration with TaxCaddy. For more information, see Setting up TaxCaddy with SafeSend Returns.

To Be Reprocessed

A downloaded PDF return is waiting to be reprocessed. This status is only applied when a user selects a return that was downloaded to PDF and then chooses to Reprocess Return from the Action menu.

Uploaded

The return was uploaded successfully. After a return is uploaded and submitted, recognition and collation functions are performed. Once complete, the status changes to READY.

Note: It may take several minutes for the status to change on especially large returns.

If the return appears to be stuck in this status, please see Return Stuck in Uploaded or Preparing for Delivery Status
