This article outlines the reports section, action icons, and settings available in Grouped Returns.
The Grouped Returns Report provides a view of delivered returns within a group name.
Locating Return
Follow the steps below to locate an individual return within a group.
- Click Grouped Returns Report.
- Type the Client ID or Name into the Global Search Box.
- Click the desired Group Name to expand the Grouped Returns list.
- Locate return within the group.
Actions
The columns and action icons function the same way as those within SafeSend Returns. View this article for more information- Delivered Returns: Bulk Action Icons
Quick Access Actions
- Select one or more returns/groups.

- Set Access- This will allow you to set permissions for which users are allowed to view the returns.
- Change <Custom Column>- Change the value listed in the custom column (if enabled in Return Settings).
- Download e-file Forms- Download all available e-file forms for the selected returns.

Send Reminder- Send a signing reminder.
- This will send 1 signing reminder to the assigned Controller for each selected group.

Archive- Archive all items selected.
- If archiving a whole group, this will archive all returns shown within that group.

Action Menu
There is a separate action menu for the Group and one for each Return.
The Group Action Menu options are the same as the SafeSend Returns Action Menu with a few exceptions:
- Click the Action (...) menu for the group.
- Edit Group Name Edit the name of the group if needed.
- Controller Tracking - View actions taken by the firm and managing members.
- Controller View - View the managing member's tax return dashboard.
- Archive Group - This will archive all delivered returns for the group.
You can move all finished items that are part of a group into the Archived section. All capabilities are the same as the items in the Grouped Returns Report.
Follow the steps below to restore a group OR return within a group from the archive section. This will move the return back to the Grouped Returns Report:
- Click on the group/items within group that you want to restore.
- Click Restore.
- Click Confirm.
Delivered Grouped Returns that are deleted will be placed in the Recycle Bin. The line data is retained for tracking purposes.
Delete
- Click Recycle Bin.
- Click the checkbox next to the Group/ individual return(s) to be deleted.
- Click Delete.
- Click Confirm to permanently delete the return.
Restore
- Click Recycle Bin.
- Click the checkbox next to the return(s) to be deleted.
- Click Restore.
- Click Confirm to restore the return to the Grouped Returns Report section.
Client Instructions
Client Instructions are email notifications the managing member will receive. Each message type can be customized. This feature functions the same as the Settings: Client Instructions feature for one-off returns.
