Request an Access Code

SafeSend Returns® requires an Access Code for Clients to view returns.  This is an extra layer of security to ensure the return is accessed by the specific Client utilizing the assigned email or mobile phone number.

  • The Client will receive a secure email or text message from the Tax Preparer.
  • The green Request Access Code button must be clicked for a code to be generated.
    • Access codes will expire after 20 minutes, after they are used, or when a new code is generated.

    • Each time a return is accessed, a new code will need to be generated.

Request Access Code via Email
  • Open the email received from noreply@safesendreturns.com and click the hyperlink.
    • The email may deliver to a junk or spam folder. If the Client is unable to locate the email, ask them to check that folder.
    • For future delivery, it is suggested that clients mark noreply@safesendreturns.com as safe or add it to their contact list.

Troubleshooting Steps for Access Codes

If you cannot find the access code email, follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  • Access Codes cannot be generated using Internet Explorer, the button is not clickable, even though it is displayed.  SafeSend recommends using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
  • Check your Junk/Spam folders and search for "noreply@safesendreturns.com"
  • Check with your I.T. department to see if any emails are being quarantined.
  • Try requesting another code. Access Codes can take 1-5 minutes to arrive.
  • If a code cannot be delivered or generated, the tax preparer does have the option to generate a code for the client.
